  • This is corny, but it is better than the Tom Cruise version of 'War of the Worlds.'

  • *Completely ignores the actual scientific talk*

This reminded me of The Adventures of Captain Proton.

  • Leonard Nimoy's First movie. Fascinating

  • firing ray gun

  • that "horrible zombie" seemed fairly reasonable to me. explaining his plans and co-operating and all.. fucking humans just looking for an excuse to kick off.

  • Martians speak with perfect American accents

  • i actually have this on VHS somewhere. its even cornier than this trailer makes it out to be.

  • @messageofthemaker who gives a shit?

  • Wow, zombies really were different before George Romero came along. Before him it looks like our options for zombies were either these guys, or the guys from Plan 9.

  • @thebluesrevival I am well aware of the origins of zombies, and the voodoo term it came from. I watched a show, Ripelys or Beyond Bizarre, on a Haitian man who claimed to be brought back from the dead by a voodoo priest or witch doctor. A zombie is one that has been brought back from the dead usually for unwilling servitude, aka- slavery.

At any rate, I believe they could have chosen a better title for this particular flick.

  • @messageofthemaker You have to understand it through a lens of xenophobic discourse. Zombie, a particular word that has (or had) authentic meaning in Haitian folk religious belief, stands in for whatever Americans misperceive as threatening, fantastic, or exotic.

Also, definition number one is incorrect. The loa usually represented by a snake is Dumballah. And he is not a god. In Voodoo, the God-force or God is reached through the loa.

  • @flapdoodle64 oh no you didnt! Sassy :3
