@jfichter69 All opera singers sing without microphones in opera theaters over the orchestra, so I wouldn't worry about it; Wagnerian dramatic voices are even stronger. Re:your question - this is a movie based on opera Rigoletto by Verdi, director is Jean-Pierre Ponelle and amazon has a DVD. Also, a new movie based on this opera is free on PBS GP web page- google "PBS Great Performances Rigoletto from Mantua watch" (not as good vocally as this one, but still beautiful).
