Wild turkeys, in my many years of observation, do not cozy up to each other. Well, these two hens just did, and they stayed wing to wing for maybe an hour or so. Next day, same fence, they were five feet apart. They have a routine: they condition me by pecking on the sliding glass door. This rewards me by giving them sunflower seeds. After dinner they fly up on the fence and rest or snooze for a couple hours. Sometimes they come back for a second helping. Finally, they fly up to the top of a tall eucalyptus tree to spend the night.
