From Wikipedia: "Ooh La La" was written by Ronnie Lane and Ronnie Wood. It was Ronnie Wood, not Rod Stewart or Ronnie Lane, who sang the lead vocal for this song. Stewart did not think the song was up to his standards although both he and Lane recorded lead vocals for it. Their producer suggested Wood give it a try, and that's the version that was used for the album, which was Faces last studio album.

You were doing pretty good till you threw Robert Plant under the stage. Nothing Stewart will ever sing came close to Plant. Yes I do like Stewart also.

Rod Stewart has people blocking the original version of this great number.I think he wants to take all the credits-tight bastard!

I think Rod wrote it or most of it.... could be wrong on all of this, and then when they were cutting the album they decided Ronnie lane sounded better for singing it

Rod - great singer though he is - isn't capable of writing a song like this. It's got Ronnie Lane written all over it.
