This is Joe and Odell Thompson playing "Cindy Gal." I trimmed this clip from "Echos of America," which is a documentary on the history of the 5-stringed banjo.

  • @SuleDrum The buckdancer is bluesman John Dee Holeman. You can see more of him dancing and talking about his style in the documentary "Talking Feet." A streaming version of this is online at folk streams dot net. Holeman starts 43 minutes in, doing a hand-slapping/dancing duet with Fris Holloway. Algia Mae Hinton is also featured. There's also Alan Lomax footage of the three of them and others dancing and cutting up in 1983 at a house party. In a youtube clip titled "Y'all Come."
