This is an alternate video of the Stationary Climber without any footage of the drawing mechanism (go see the original). The video is much darker on youtube than I expected, but I hope you enjoy the mystery, cool shadows and enhanced creaking noises...just extra footage for anyone who cares to see it.
The setting took place in an old abandoned church that was about to be restored and converted into the Grand Street Community Art Center, which I was invited to show as part of their inaugural exhibition entitled Vestuary Operatics. It had a domed ceiling, which made for some great shadows and acoustics. The Artworks were dramatically lit, while the rest of the space had low light levels and an atmosphere of gothic flavor.
I think the darkness of the video works great with the sound the machine does.

Thanks...the domed ceiling really amplified the sounds of the Stationary Climber.
