    You are incorrect in using the term "lip synching" - it's a common mistake made by people with no real knowledge of entertainment industry. Cassidy is actually singing into the microphone live at this show, it's just that his voice is not being amplified. The song being played is a studio outtake mixed down with a vocal track. This is very is very different from the master which was pressed onto vinyl.
