@driftahxs What is the usual altitude that aircraft flying over there is?
-
Looks good, I have a plane with onboard telemitry altimeter, you think I could fly there with my 60 size glow engine type aircraft? FPV? I would stay under that AGL. I believe the rule is to not go over 400 feet within 3 miles of HNL airport. Do you need to call to ATC and plan for this? How about the old airstrip for take off and landing, or?

I would like to fly FPV there. Next time I go to Oahu. Check out FPV flying at the Kawainui airfield near Kailua .

Not too smart dude...
First off, I am pretty sure this is illegal.
Also ford island is DIRECTLY under the flight path of incoming low flying aircraft on approach from the west. I know because I am a pilot and often get vectored directly over the strip.

Its not illegal, I checked. I'm also airfield management and quiet familiar with FAA standards. Plane is well below 5ooft AGL and not in restriced airspace.
