that was a kick means that it was a seriously impressive shot at goal.
Munster are in a game means that the intensity has been notched up an it's up to Munster to meet Leinster's set level.
Don't take what they say literally, they are using sporting terms.

There was a Munster fan sitting in front of me the only red jersey in a solid block of blue, I felt sorry for him, it must have being the longest 80 mins of his life.
