  • had 2 watch for homework as well lol rofl

  • I'm afraid that argument is redundant. Didn't have to be a Catholic to be a threat.

  • @pianor91

Because you didn't have massive bombings that killed hundreds or thousands of people all across England perpetrated by Catholics before the Gunpowder Plot. Moreover, it's much harder to note that the person renting the room is a Catholic (especially in a time before the internet) than noting that they're Middle Eastern.

  • @chitoryu12 Although I'm no expert, I have a reasonable education in History and actually studied religion in Tudor England, which obviously only came to an end two years prior to this incident, and the fact that only 5% of the population were Catholic (which I doubt highly, I know for a fact many more were) is neither here nor there. That's like saying only 2% of the American population is Muslim so why worry about being blown up by terrorists?

  • John Johnson? Really? May as well call himself "Joe Smith".

  • @pianor91

Well, Catholics were only 5% of the population. They probably didn't expect to rent it out to the 5% who wanted to blow shit up.

  • I don't understand how they can rent out the undercroft, letting anyone use it for anything, and then be surprised when they find it full of gunpowder. Didn't really have the right to arrest him on his property, in my opinion :P
