  • i would go out on a limb and put this one in the top ten Schenker solos of all time, maybe in the top 5. just so melodic, the heaviness is almost an afterthought. the rest of my top 10, in no particular order: save yourself looking for love rock bottom lights out doctor doctor on and on captain nemo into the arena high flyer only you can rock me whoops that's 11... oh well, that's what the amps go to. lol.
  • that is a pretty good list of great choices considering the large repertory of songs he has acumulated all these years!

thank you for your constant positive comments my friend, sometimes I can't thank you properly because of the volumen of comments!

& I don't come back but I still try to click on thumbs up & I don't reply!

  • why did mikey think this cd was a disaster?story???axe please lol

  • I think he was refering to the change in pruducerers & also the UK Version, there are 2 seperate releases of the BTD cd,the UK & the US. version & the US Version sounds way better & he was upset because the UK version was released in the UK first !

  • sorry I hate the typos when I try to do it too fast,I meant PRODUCERS,!

  • I meant ,Michael was upset cause the that version was released too soon before it had been worked on or say Polished!

& happened to be released as a UK Version!

  • The "Built to Destroy" album is great, despite Michael calling it a disaster in a 1991 Guitar World interview. The energy of this live song is intense with emotion, precision, and a faster tempo than the record.

  • Whoever voted thumbs down is tone deaf. Great song and solo!

  • sweet upload, gonna see msg in virginia this summer

  • lol. all good axe.

the schenk has literally 100s of killer riffs too, not to mention his fills (which are generally better than most other guitarists' solos). a good example is UFO's "pack it up and go."

what keeps me coming back is the tone and feel MS has. he never just turns in a "stock" solo though he's put his signature on a few widely copied techniques, like the long, bending wah-ed-out sustain ( i.e. the solo on "too much of nothing"), and the double-speed melodic shred.

  • wow, very cool. i like the feel of the live version. breakneck tempo. this song grows on you. the solo rips of course, but a very cool vocal performance as well.
