  • 3 jamaicans in the final before christie was eliminated..but a jamaican born still won

  • I was 11 years old when this happened, and I remember watching this on TV with my family. When Donovan had that terrible start I remember thinking "oh no...." and then he just blasted to the front and won. I was jumping around all over the place screaming.

It was such an amazing moment as a Canadian to watch him win.

  • @Jai77 i was just born and my mother named me after him ^_^

  • Legend!

  • I love the commentator. On USA soil. Donovan Bailey. Canada. Slow start but WHAT A FINISH.......

  • @omatosigns, I doubt that. Bailey was not on a warning (everyone was allowed two bites at the cherry back then, remember) so there's no way he'd have been deliberately sitting in the blocks. He just wasn't a great starter, and never had been. His start here was average, but for him it was the norm. See how he won gold at the '95 World Championships, or how he NEARLY chased down Greene in Athens in 1997. Great sprinter was Bailey, but I'm not quite sure he had a sub 9.80 in him.

  • @flenny Yes you are right that he was born in Jamaica but all of his training was in Canada by Canadian trainers and no one can deny that! Just a thought! have a good day!

  • wow man that was epic !!!!!

  • silly aussie bich, ben johnson isnt moving anywhere

  • soooo true.

  • Wow, that female commentator is just full of passion. "Ben Johnson move over, Canada zzzzz......."

  • Donovan Bailey's 27.07 mph is the fastest speed ever record at official competitions
