@Lfdjake91 Hi, so nice to read a comment without all the abuse that appears to be rife nowadays on YT....I, myself, enjoy the savagery in some bouts but there are matches that go too far and should be stopped, this one's a prime example of that. Of course it is my opinion and my opinion only, but a bout that reaches these extremes just isn't for me.... But differing ideas etc., is what makes this world so interesting......Thanks for your opinion/imput/comment, Lfdjake91.
@gawagney I enjoy wrestling in all of it's forms too, but one of those forms is savage, bloody brawls. I certainly enjoy a great technical match as well.
I love it! Right after Abdullah smacks the ref the second time, the ref disqualifies Abdullah and then personally digs into his own pocket and hands Martel a chain to use on Abdullah at the 5:30 mark. Hilarious!
the 5 most bizzare and dangerous wrestlers of all time in my opinion.........1 Abdullah the butcher 2 moose cholak 3 bezerker 4 George 'the animal" steele 5 the Undertaker.......................hon. mention the Boogeyman.
yes, he and garea were tag champs 3 times, if i remember correctly. i probably have a cultural pro-martel bias, being from montreal & watching him as a french speaking star as a kid in the 70's & 80's. i couldn't stand the model gimmick...actually, according to piper, martel really had modelling agencies after him in the 80's. betchyu vince heard about that, and voila.... if rick had spoken fluent english without the french canadian accent, his career may have rivaled steamboats.
@jdbankshot never knew much about martel 'til he was AWA champ and "The Model" just never thought he was that great of a showman. Didn't he team with garea to win WWWF tag titles?
@mortminoch martel bled alot. portland, teaming with piper, montreal, feuding with whomever... matter of fact, piper taught him how to break a bottle of beer over his head without knocking himself out, a trick he used on tv in quebec shortly after dropping the awa title. ricky still had it during the model days, but his best was the territory touring during the late 70's & through the 80's, a time when if you clawed your way to the top, you had to bleed. anyway, take care & keep watchin classics
Gotta love Abby's boots!

@badman1881 The match was in an outdoor stadium in PR and it had apparently rained earlier.
