@Rand0911 not all of it, you just got to look a lot harder for it as its not on the telly.

@wishwizard exactly, nowaday music is basically rubbish

The shirts, the hair and the pants and of course the gold jacket. If only the music industry woke up and started bringing back originality and not regurgitated bird food.

this is for the haters, the bar kays are fucking legends! one of the greatest funk bands of all time. club nuveo's is in the where are they now files. i was living with the kays when they wrote this song, its original!!! Alan Jones was a god at producing hits, and knew what tempos and sounds of the day to use.

and i guess larry dodson sound like sugarfoot from the ohio players too?

This Song Is NOT Even Close To Club Nouveau's "Jealousy" !!! It Has The Bar-Kay Beat, Like "Hit And Run" !!! Their Signature Trademark !!!

this hott!!!!

@Shamakah That's right. That was Allen Jones formula to produce hits based on the top 10; however, contrary to popular belief the Barkays cranked out their own formula for their own sound. I've seen you drum live for the Barkays and the United We Funk All Stars. You're one hell of a drummer dude.

@paul3fun Here's the thing. This isn't even the album version from Contagious. This version is the remix. Allen Jones passed prior to the release of Contagious and while he produced the majority of the album Don't Hang Up was one of three cuts on the album that was produced by RJ Rice of RJ's Latest Arrival fame. If you listen to the album version of Don't Hang Up it's mild compared to this version which i really don't think sounds like Jealousy.

this song sounds strangely familiar to club nouveau's "jealousy"
Why wasnt this a hit? Its truly the basis of what were hits in 87 and 88
