i was there. when warren tapped that 9 the whole audience all gasped. I couldnt believe Devaney went off the sheet and won by one. It was a great tourney. I met Wes Mallot, Christ Barnes, Page, and Walter.

DeVaney is called monkey boy/man because after he won his 1st regional title ever he said to one of his friends "It's nice to get the monkey off of my back." Mike's friend told him "Hey man, that's only the third regional event you've ever entered." From that point on, His peers referred to him as "Monkey Boy."

sometimes though the pins won't agree with you. Its the way it works. Look at Norm duke last year playing the roll to riches finals. The 5 pin leave was bullshit. Same happens with the ten

When the ball comes in hard and late missing the 9 pin, it's one of the most powerful looking taps. That's why it hurts so bad when you're the one leaving it to lose a match. I lost a local tournament by leaving a crunched 9 pin. I was using a ball that went long to get through the nasty heads, but made a sharp left turn at 50 feet. IT HURTS
