This is the third video in the set of three that explains how to lash on a rim of a basket. I also explain how to singe the hairs on a basket.

  • You know, I don't really think adding twining every 4 or 5 rows will make that much difference. It might help if you do a 3 or 4 rod wahl though. I've honestly not given this much thought. If you really need to add strength, you should double your stakes.

    Hope this helps!

  • Nice videos that give wonderful information. I'm curious would it add strength to the basket to add a few rows of twining every 4-5 rows? It may be an ignorant question but I am ignorant so no offense will be taken. Peace in Christ.

  • I need to thank you for such amazing instructions! So detailed and easy to follow. I have been looking all over for a basket weaving video that is detailed enough to follow and your videos have done just that! Thank you so very much for the great videos! Now to make my own. Thank you!!!

  • just made one following these instructions....turned out ok...thanks

  • I've just decided to try basketry & want to compliment you on your excellent tutorials.

    They are most appreciated!

  • I love how you have taken the lashing the other way. It looks very nice!

I'm glad you explained why not to singe the stained basket. I thought it was so you wouldn't have burn marks showing, or white ends where you'd removed the hairs. I never considered it would be FLAMABLE!!!! LOL. I am still sitting here, watching closely before I go get my new england basket and start making some corrections on it! Thanks so much!
