This was a big help because our water softener is a bit old and I think the timer blew on it. After I cycle it manually, there's a HUGE difference. I'm going to run this test to see if the timer needs replacing or just needed to be reset.

It actually rinses better though. The soapy feeling is your bodies own natural oils. Reason being is that there's nothing in the treated water to clog your pores, that allows your natural oils to flow freely (the way they're supposed to).

The only thing about my soft water i hate is not feeling completely rinsed in the shower.But the soap does lather quickly like you said.
