quentin tarantino comments on wong kar wais "chungking express". Very interesting for those who have seen the movie or still want to. Chungking Express is one movie of the rolling thunder video collection. Thats a collection of tarantinos favourite films that havent been released in america and wouldnt have if it wouldnt have been for quentin. Enjoy

  • I love listening to Tarantino talking about films. You can just tell how much he loves movies. He is probably a fan first and a film maker second.

  • that's the most random way i've ever seen his films ranked.

  • Can somebody please tell me what is the word he says on 1:44? Jumpstart his own what??

  • @ahberjennlee I have not seen Infernal Affairs as of yet, although I do plan on it,but I do agree with you The Departed did suck.To me it was one of Jack Nicholson's worst performances.

  • Tarantino is too cool

  • Days of Being Wild is the best WAW film. Chungking Express is his most mediocre. So of course the world loves it more than Days.

  • Tony Leung was in "Days of Being Wild" for about 2.5 minutes at the very end.

  • its like QT never left Video Archives. So much movie knowledge!!!

  • What a fanboy! haha, can't blame him though ;) Was obsessed with Wong Kar Wai during my High School years, buying 5 dollar bootlegs on the weekends :P

  • This guy's insights are fascinating, it leaves me wanting to spend the rest of the day ploughing through all the movies he mentions. I understand QT did an introduction to each of the videos released by Rolling Thunder Pictures (Sonatine, Switchblade Sisters etc.). If anyone has a copy of them could they please please *PLEASE* upload his into?

  • @all the commentators who think QT displays this kind of insane movie obsession in real life- its a marketing gimmick- people don't realize when Hollywood is pitching. QT loves films and works hard on his projects-but the whole otaku style jabbering is just QTs schtick to hype projects.

Just look up famous actors on Wiki and see how many have "troubled childhoods"- these kind of stories are popular as it helps create a connection between the controlled, elite life of celebrity & the real world.

  • @PtAltmVansanTarr..think you got it wrong... HERO is a big budget "hollywood type" version of Ashes of Time.a very cool film.don't get when people refer to films as artsy. thats the big damage hollywood has done to cinema.if filmmakers do something different then is called artsy (like if it was a bad thing)hollywood is just part of the whole film industry, generally the most uninteresting boring side of it. some good films come out of there, but is a low ratio compare to their whole production
