Sonic The Hedgehog 3 - Xbox Live Arcade - Buyer Warning

EDIT: My bad. Sonic 3 has always been a bit of a mess of bugs. Ignore my complaints about clipping issues, they've always been there. As for the sound... yeah, still sounds a little harsh, but it's not a deal breaker. As for my opinion now... wait until Sonic & Knuckles comes out, and buy both so you can hook them up together and play one of the best platformers I've ever played.

Some video to demonstrate some of the complaints I had about the XBLA port of Sonic 3. I don't want to review this because Sonic 3 is still a good game, but this port leaves a lot to be desired...

if you've bought both sonic 3 and sonic and knuckles you can use the lock on to play sonic 3 & knuckles as the full game.

As a quick update, Sonic and Knuckles is now on XBLA and well worth the points, I'll most likely do a video at some point about it. Next up on the Megadrive rereleases though is another of my favourites, ToeJam & Earl!

originally sonic & knuckles had a little cartridge port on top so you could plug other mega drive games in. you could put sonic 3 into sonic & knuckles, and then if you played that you would playthrough sonic 3 and then sonic & knuckles as if it were one game (as it was first intended). you could also play through sonic 2 as knuckles!

how do you get the title screen up on the xbla version? It just start sat the menu??

Buyers warning? You should mention how there is no level select after you beat the game. So you can't go back to previous levels and mess around with super sonic for fun or anything at all.....

Noticed a few bugs in Sonic 2... Like Sonic spazzing out through a loop or AT THE SECOND TO LAST BOSS... If you hit Metal sonic just before he goes into a ball and you kill him he'll glitch out and make it so you can't proceed.... The screen won't move so you have to wait for the time to kill you... Thus annoying as hell... and wasting a life

@reservoirdog666: You only need Sonic & Knuckles. Go to the bonus option and select Sonic 3 & Knuckles. This is, of course, assuming you purchased and played both games standalone.

I got some questions. I unlocked super sonic and beat the game, sonic 3, after that. How do i go back the the first acts without losing super sonic?? If i buy sonic and knuckles on xbox live arcade, can i do the lock on thing if I also have sonic 3 on xbox live? HOW do I do the lock on on xbox live?

@HyperShan3 you can't expect a system like XBOX to play a old game that used Out of Date software of course its not preform with flying colors.

The upside I guess would be how freakin easy the achievements are. I finished the half of them before getting to the fourth level. The Save Feature is cool since you can save at any time even during the special zones.
