The Tower Hamlets Green Party hit the campaign trail last weekend when they climbed on board the eco (friendlier) biodiesel campaign bus and toured the Borough last Saturday (24th)
Joined by a Samba group of drummers called Verde Verdade (means Green Truth in Portuguese) leading at the front and a dedicated gang of Green Party cyclists we toured the streets bringing entertainment to all on the hottest day of the year so far.
The tour took in many local landmark sites including Brick Lane, Bethnal Green High Street, Roman Road & Docklands ending with a rapturous performance in Victoria Park.
Farid Bakht, Parliamentary Candidate for Bethnal Green & Bow, said: The procession, colour and music was our way of saying a big Thank You to the thousands of people we have met on the door step and the smiles and words of encouragement. Sorry for the racket we made on Saturday, but in this election, the Greens have not been shy. We are taking on the big boys and we have no fear. Be prepared for a surprise on May 6"
