then why did bayern win 3 european cups in a row the next 3 seasons after Ajax? also for a club that had the best club side ever it is quite interesting that they have 4 european cups. also i'd side that bayern made up most of the german squad and Ajax made up most of the holland side so why did germany win against Holland in '74 world cup.

@crazygamer241 Nonsense, this was a jubilee fairwell game nothing serious.
This 4-0 is the teal comparison between the two teams. Remember, Barry Hülshoff the best defender of Ajax didn't play in this game..It could have ended 5-0 !!
Admit it mate,Ajax in 1970-73 was the best club team in the European football history.

@Gijtje95 In 1978, Cruyff played about 75 minutes. It was his farewell game, I do think he cared about it.
-
@crazygamer241 believe me, those were other circumstances .. cruyff did not care about that match, so are the other players ajax.. as a matter of fact, cruyff only played a few minutes in that game!!

I don't know what you are arguing about actually. If you watch the highlights of this game, anyone neutral and not biased will see that Ajax did not rout Bayern like the result may suggest. In the first half Bayern actually was the more convincing team. A 2-1 or 3-1 for Ajax would have been a fairer result for this game.

This wouldn't have significant impact.. Ajax would have won the return game in munich if neccesary. .They scored the first goal and than changed a gear back .was also right decision
What I am trying to point out is this.
İf you compare both teams in their prime Ajax in 1972-73 and Bayern 1974-75 Ajax was far stronger than Bayern. Ajax was immensly strong in all positions..

This game is considered to be Sepp Maier's worst ever game for Bayern.
