I show you tools & equipment I used to block my Entrelac crochet blanket.

Another problem with an iron is that even if you do have one that has a good steam boost, the reservoir is not very big and your will literally run out of steam for a large object.

I place the cardboard cutting board under the foam blocks and then the sheet on top.

  • Is there a way to do this for something smaller (like a scarf) if you don't have a steamer or iron? I also don't have an iron.

  • @Tazzie1312 I answered this in previous posts. Dampen it and roll it in a towel. lay it out flat and pin it in place. allow to dry.

  • Is there another way to block afghans? I'm working on my first large blanket and its going to 6-8 feet. I dont have a steamer or anywhere large enough to pin it down

  • @Eldunari98 You can dampen it and lay it out flat to dry on a large table or on your bed. See the video called 'Prairie Star afghan finishing and blocking.'

  • why do you block it?

  • @ashenzues Blocking makes the finished piece lay flat, be in the right shape and for acrylic yarn the steam softens the yarn.
