Members of the Williamwood Pipe Band were at Glasgow Green Monday 3rd of May with other pipers and drummers to the play Heilan Laddie and Scotland the Brave. These tunes are the traditional conclusion to the championships when the thousands of competitors march past the Chieftain.


Pipe Bands from around the world took part in a global launch for the World Pipe Band Championships 2010.

Every year more than 8,000 pipers and drummers from more than 200 bands head for Glasgow Green for one of the summers biggest and most loved events. Tickets for this years must see competitions, being held on Saturday 14 August, are NOW ON SALE.




The World Pipe Band Championships have been associated with Glasgow for more than 60 years and are worth millions to the local economy. Visitors from across the globe come to Glasgow to watch the very best bands in the world compete for the coveted world title currently held by Simon Fraser University Pipe Band. This year, the Grade 1 arena is getting bigger so more people can come and see the very pinnacle of Pipe Band competitio
