Have you read Robin Hobb (Farseer etc.)? I've been recommended GRRM multiple times (but haven't got to them yet myself, alas) based on the fact that I've generally liked RH, so I'm assuming you might enjoy RH as well. Currently reading Fall of Hyperion and enjoying it.

I liked this very much! It's good to see when people are not afraid to say a book is rubbish. I haven't read any of the books you showed, but given that I love Science-Fiction, I now consider buying the Hyperion series.
