Arnel Pineda of Journey - A Tribute to the Man Once Hated But Now Loved (Don't Stop Believing)

Arnel may never be able to win every single Journey die hard fan (which is never possible) but what matters most is that he stood his ground and convinced many that he deserves to be where he is now.

AP's story never ceases to amaze me particularly how he had won over many of the long time fans of Journey who had first been skeptical of his entry to this iconic legendary band. He won them over with his incredible talent and character which is truly a remarkable feat.

This video is a tribute to him - how he started in Journey and how he is doing today - in the eyes of Journey fans.

He was here looking at possibly opening a bar/club in the future and checking out the situation. I worked with him doing sound and lighting in an HK bar/club/restaurant where he was performing. I like what he's doing now with Journey but his Queen and other stuff was also exceptional.

I worked with Arnel in Hong Kong a few years ago and knew then what a talent he was - you should have heard him and his old band do Bohemian Rhapsody, amazing! These Journey "fans" writing him and the band off with premature negative comments are clearly not real fans. Thank you to the guy who made and posted this video. I met Arnel in Hong Kong last month - same old likeable, humble guy. I'm very happy for him after a difficult early life.

I also don't understand why people discriminate against his race. He is a beautiful man inside and out, no matter his background and skin color. If people don't like him, that is fine but don't throw his race in the mix...He did nothing to you.

This is the first lead singer I have actually embraced since Steve Perry. Steve WAS Journey. 

Augeri didn't work for me. He's talented, but I really felt like the band was just a shadow of their former selves and they should just call it a day already.

And the guy after him.... never heard him, but I was long over trying to follow Journey at that point.

Arnel Pineda is the first since Perry to really capture that old Journey spirit.

I'm back on board as a Journey follower.

journey fan is very different from steve perry fan. if you are the latter, you would rather go with him if steve decides to go to the grave! journey is a band not a single person. for them to survive they need to share their talent in the band itself..long live journey!

I am so thankful Steve Perry took me through my Journey for loving and enjoying Rock and Roll. And I am so glad the Journey goes on with Arnel Pineda for this generation. All that matters is the music man......may it flow forever for all our hearts.

Hes a good singer, no doubt. And I feel for the guy having to replace, "The Voice". Talk about a tough act to follow. Although, he doesn't nearly have the chops of a Steve Perry, I don't hate.
