I kept my attention on the cars in the intersection to make sure I had margin of safety and that they saw me before I went through but yeah, it would have been safer without the potential cross traffic. Might be hard to tell when you hear all that noise but I made sure I had plenty of room to slow up for any cross traffic. I wasn't full throttle except after second gear.
