@velvetviolette I so agree. Most perfs. of this are played far too fast (for my liking). This is the best one for getting the temp correct imho. It also allows time for the sonority and resonance of these beautiful chords to linger...
btw Grieg himself played at an incredibly fast temp. Strange that because I'm sure it spoils it..

@conteststardawn my video?!?
-
@Haamidpianoman But still, it was awesome! My piano teacher even recommended me to watch and or listen to your video!!!

@conteststardawn grieg intended that however i do feel he wished for half pedal as well and more of clearer break between letting go of pedal and holding it again for the next bar.the left pedal is clear, however i can also imagine a late impressionist using the debussy pedal, just having sum fun with this piece makes it really awesome. every1 whp probably uses it for the wedding shud tell the pianist and how it should be played and especially the pedal

Too much pedal. Takes the joy out of the song.

It's soooo amazing!! I'm playing this right now, and I couldn't seem to find a decent recording of this song until I found this one!!

I guess everybody needs to find his own way of playing this piece. The tempo changes in the quiet middle part was too much for my taste, but apart from that, i admire deeply your piano skills, the interpretation and the clean recording.
Wow, thanks for posting a decent version of this song.

I like the pace of this one, actually. If you think of it as a wedding march, I can't imagine you'd want it too brisk.
