This might be some members of the Budweiser Karate Team doing an entertaining break dance and karate demo at Master Kevin Thompson's tournament in the early 1990's. Certainly looks like Jerry "Fast Feet" Fontanez at the start. If it isn't, please correct us.

  • i seem to recall that Lamarr Thornton and George Binns Sr. had professional camera men at some of their events...also there was another 2 guys trying to do what you all did...Oscar Acevedo and his friend...they have lots of stuff from that era. would be nice to find...ck with Lamar and Mr. Binns...be well

  • @cincodogg5 Yes, it would be great if that footage could be uploaded as well. We decided that what we had filmed years ago was doing nobody any good sitting on a shelf. So as we can, we are uploading it.

  • yes Jerry certainly likes to entertain...im glad he is doing well...do you have any videos of Kevin Thompson vs Jonas Nunez, vs Derrick Williams or Bill Beason? Or actually any NYC lightweight fighters from the 80s?

also looking for Jerry Fontanez vs Billy Blanks...thanks

  • @cincodogg5 Wish there was video of these match-ups. We were sometimes the first to actually show up at these tournaments with a camera. Fontanez vs. Blanks? That would be very interesting to see.

  • Actually had dinner with Jerry this past week and he talked a bit about this and his 30th anniversary of the Rock Steady Crew...I agree its a talent...but its not karate...Jerry has always been innovatative in all that he does and cant be criticized for trying but as a firm traditionalist, break dancing, hip hop, doesnt belong in karate...

  • @cincodogg5 He was entertaining a very appreciative audience. Nothing wrong with that.

  • That's Jerry "Fast Feet" Fontanez alright. He confirmed it on facebook. I believe he's performing with the Rock Steady Crew and Taimak "The Last Dragon" is one of the Sport Karate players in the back ground going into a split, if I'm correct. Thank you for sharing.
