Hey, why don't you render an actual graphic-intensive scene? This scene is nothing.
I'll give you some scenes to render with V-ray... See how "fast" it is then.
I'm not trying to be a dick, but this scene just isn't that good of an example.

Or it's called FAIL. Just like shitty vista.

@evolutionpr What, the max voltage limit for E8400 is 65 watts, are you dumb, 125 is for Core 2 quad Q6600
Mine only consumes 30 and CAN prove it.
Oh actually it consumes 18.75 at full load, but it's at stock clock ;)

Mein AMD Athlon X4 640 braucht auf Multi 13 Sekunden. Und das mit nur 4 Kernen auf 3GHz

47 Sekunden für einen Bildaufbau?? Wahnsinn!

Xeon is just a shiny name. They actually suck. Kthx.

@Timvanhelsdingen thats not entirely true. depends on the program

@Site4Animation yeah... the scenes are UGLY AS HELL. I actually can't believe that cinebench is actually real.
This comment has received too many negative votes show
one thing your all forgetting about the i7s...overclocking. Makes them just as powerful as an octocore, if not more so. Great job paying that much money just to lose all that power.

Best purchase ever...in 2008. I get paid a lot for the work I do so cost isn't my worry. But the amount of tasks, projects, rendered frames I've gone through isn't comparable than using my old windows P4 1.8Ghz machine, nor I should wait for 2010+ intel's technology to come out. In fact, I'd custom built two i7 Bloomfield machines as a clustered render server. You don't want to see my energy bills when these clusters running 24/7... :D
