Remixes, depending on how it's done, fall under fair use and do not infringe, so, no the "remix" argument you made does not in fact support the idea that copyright infringement is "good".
I like copyright because the shit I make is mine, and it's up to me whether I share it or not, to what extent and in what manner. After I found out that the internet archive pulled my whole website onto their servers without permission, I decided to think twice about posting the things I make on the internet.

@ImpactAssault Well I can't deny that, I see Canonical still going on untill now. However piracy is against the law and it means that its against all of the citizens, if you want to enjoy that lifestyle, I want to enjoy that lifestyle, lets always give thanks to the providers of solutions so they would gladly release their stuff in public domain so we could recognize and donate to them. Piracy is a form of ungratefulness

;-) .. look up piracy studies on Google ... you'll find there are quite a few of them that show that people who pirate tend to buy more. Why else is it that the business that says it's hurting so much and pointing at all the piracy - is one of the only businesses doing quite well ... imagine that.
@ImpactAssault 1:43 what do you mean by offering a premium?

@alexzracer2008 Pandora, Spotify and all these other free services operate on the freemium model which means their service is free but to get extra features such as song skipping, less ads/no ads and playlists, etc. you can upgrade to a premium version.

It's about nurturing providers of solutions. Piracy might help popularity oriented products, but for more specialized products such as healing musics/voices, inventory softwares, preachings... they relied on the IP Law. What's life without solutions, do you want to be like third world countries where people only give little thanks to their providers of solutions and therefore became less interested in helping others? Fishermen could decide not to sell if the prices were too low, think about it.

@Melki Piracy can hurt small companies which makes sense. But I think if properly marketed, consumers who use the product will end up paying for it if there is enough value behind it. It does mess with market prices though but good quality products in my book always beat out bad quality ones. Our digital culture is only going to enforce that more and more.

does priracy help or hinder cultureal development? name-dropping is retro. not advancement. HOWEVER satire, parody, and other insight mechs DO.

@area163 So many new things have come to life because of remixing. All the news stories turned into songs by AutoTune the News and the Nirvana/Rick Astley mash ups are just a few that come to mind. Most of it comes off as satire but serious works can also be derived from copyrighted material if presented in a way that is not stealing but utilizing. "EpicMealTyme" on YouTube is a blatant rip-off of EpicMealTime as just one example of this.
