Torchlight: Perfected Destroyer gameplay with Devastate

This is a video demonstrating the power of Devastate + Haste (+Dervish) combo in Torchlight game.

Location is level 70 of the Shadow Vault aka Endless Dungeon with level 110 monsters on Very Hard difficulty.

Destroyer character in action just gains level 100 along the gameplay, with no cheats and fairly limited Enchants.

Is Devastate with high level Haste overpowered? Personally I think Runic Games has taken the wrong character class under the looking glass, as they are nerfing Alchemist's Ember Lance and Ember Lightning in the upcoming patch. In so far, I've found Devastate + Haste combo with Destroyer far superior and overpowered character build.

anybody know how he is using devastate without losing mana? equipment and eyeball?

@xway I do not know does it work with current version of Torchlight as I haven't played the game in months, but on previous versions you could click repeatably Devastate instead of holding the mouse button down. Using the skill this way alongside with 5 levels in Advanced Spellcasting for some mana regen, Devastate doesn't drain your mana pool basically at all. You also attack faster this way.

I have just started this game myself and been reading about the different "stages" and I noticed your on level 70 of the fortress when i read in an article not saying its correct but the max was 30. im guessing this isnt the first time ur character has been through the level

Once you beat the game for the first time, a new dungeon opens on the village graveyard, called Shadow Vault. It has randomly generated infinite levels where monsters get increasingly more difficult each level. This dude has been leveled up mostly there.

I made a destroyer based on this video and I'm currently lvl 55 at floor 37 of the shadow vault tearing through lvl 68 monsters! To those who have asked yes devestate is the only skill you need with this build and yes it still takes less mana to click the skill rather than hold it down. To rebind keys you can use Torchkit like the OP said or you can manually edit the settings.txt in the appdata folder.

@fatNstealthy A bold smith with an irish accent, jungle levels featururing pygmee enemies with shamans ressurecting them and casting fire spells combined with lightning casting spirits and large three type monsters - Socketed items with gems that can be transmuted to their next grade - Magical, set and unique items, 'random' unique and superunique monsters and a, let's be honest, identical soundtrack (And thats just a FEW examples). I really don't see ANY similarities with Diablo... :p

my destroyer is better than yours.. i have the epic odrak sword..with 75%crit so.. GG
