Woo, someone's been along down-thumbing all comments on evolution. I had a debate once with a Muslim (did everyone else know they were Creationists? Who'd have thunk it!)... we went over it for hours, and he just didn't get it. Eventually, I hit on the perfect explanation:

"Every time you learn something, you grow a braincell. That's evolution." Naturally, that went straight over his head too.

you cant say evolution is being destroyed or doesnt exist anymore.. because we are a species are changing genetically (very slowly), or our thoughts and potential for neural diversity in our heads are changing. Because it is going in a direction you think is negative or of deteriation, doesnt mean evolution is progressing. It isnt something based on subjective values like morality. It is a process, like history.. we are making history now, doesnt mean we are failing it

it just annoys me, idiots who dont know the defining. Seems as though she was saying we were evolving fine.. but now we are at a cross roads. So what rules facilitated human evolution? How do you judge it now.. my point is that it is an unconcious amoral process. It is like how people say that evolution is failing because more dumb people are breading, and it is the same as saying we are 'screwing up history'

the old woman doesnt know the definition of evolution.. evolution doesnt have any morality.. there is no right or wrong.. we can not destroy it. It is just the adaptation based on environment... ie being able to thrive in an environment gives an advantage. And environment changes over time. To have a subjective opinion on what is right and wrong and if we are 'evolving correctly' is fallacious. She should have worded it as the enviro. is the prob, because that effects evolution fundamntly
