Filmed in 1968 (released in 1969) at the Spahn Ranch movie set, made famous by the Manson Family, during the same period and in the same location as H.G. Lewis's "Ramrodder". "The Female Bunch" stars Russ Tamblyn, star of "West Side Story", and cinema legend Lon Chaney Jr. in his final film role. It's a cheap exploitation film by director Al Adamson (I Spit On Your Corpse, Satan's Sadists, Dracula vs. Frankenstein, Psycho A-Go-Go), Al Adamson was murdered in 1995 and his body was found buried under his freshly laid cement and tile bathroom. Al Adamson also worked using the names Rick Adams, Denver Dixon Jr., George Sheaffer and Albert Victor.

No, it was directed by Al Adamson. In the mid 60s Al cranked out a bunch of flicks: scuzzy biker items ("Satan's Sadists," "Hell's Bloody Devils), Westerns ("Five Bloody Graves," "Jessi's Girls"), soft-core comedies ("The Naughty Stewardesses," "Blazing Stewardesses"), horror/sci-fi ("Horror of the Blood Monsters", "Brain of Blood," & "Nurse Sherri").
As has been commented, the irony of "life imitating art" at Spahn Ranch is quite amazing! For a second I thought I was watching Robert Hendrickson's documentary "Manson!" LOL!
