Realistically, this was never going to be that big a fight. Salita was one of these journeymen who had ground his way to the top of the rankings in one of the sanctioning bodies but who was still ranked pretty low overall. Sort of like Mansfield Town thumping a load of teams in the Blue Square Premier and then playing Barcelona.
It was a mandatory defence though so you can't hold that against Khan. He's gone on to fight guys like Maidana who were the hardest fights out there for him.
