The fade-in and fade-out effect gives a cool look and feel to electronic projects. I made two simple analog fade-in fade-out circuits to control multiple LEDs. It can also be used for you car dome light or for off-delay security light.

  • Great video! What if I simply wanted to have the led's fade in/out only when pressing the switch. When you turn it on, it would fade in and stay at full brightness. When you pressed the button again it would fade out to off. Any suggestions?

  • @RafaelMarrero86 You wanna make a toggle switch and connect it to this circuit. Use a flip-flop connected as a toggle switch.

  • @pcbheaven Thank you so much for the reply! If I understand you correctly, using a toggle switch would achieve my desired effect, as the video is using a push-button switch that has to be held down.

  • @RafaelMarrero86 a toggle switch is one solution to your problem indeed. But you can use an RF flip-flop chip and connect it as a toggle switch, and then use a simple pushbutton which will work as a toggle switch. Search for "flip flop toggle switch"

  • well i made the more sophisticated one and the values of the parts are near the same and it works great and it's hard to make it so thanks alot :D

  • I've been looking for a good project to make fading LEDs. Most examples have PICs and I wanted it to be analog, so this is great. Thanks!
