I'm still uncomfortable with the idea of humanity making an impact on God, you know, influencing God in any way. To me that sounds very humanistic and borders on blasphemy.
However, with Boyd, I don't see the arrogant elitism I see in the Calvinists and the Open view masterfully explains the problem of evil and prompts Kingdom work. And Boyd's also right while, theologically, we may be Calvinist, Arminian, or Open Theist, but practially we are all Open Theist.

@adambomb312 I know what you mean. I, at first, thought that influencing God, actually deminished Him. But to have a relationship with someone who you do not influence is pretty strained. My daughter influences me, yet I'm still quite the man! hehe

This is by far the best, most practical explanation of Open Theism. I don't see how anyone could watch this with an open mind and not get it. It's just common sense

I think God allows humanity to impact Him within the boundaries that He has set and that is why He is so amazing, in that He chooses to be impacted. The bible gives many instances where God has been moved by humans, and God is relational so that's the only way to have relationship, of course God is still sovereign and He makes the final decisions and obviously His will will still happen, so i don't think it's bordering on blasphemy at all.
