Sometimes known as "New Found Sound Sessions", after the studio, in which this was recorded in.
In June 1981 The Misfits recorded demos for their first full length album "Walk Among Us". They never got released, but there exist some bootlegs with the mix-downs of the last 4 tracks. This is not the whole recording, my version is missing the last track, "Devil's Whore House" if anyone has this version, please contact me via PM.
Songs:
1. 20 Eyes 00:00 - 01:57
2. I Turned Into A Martian 01:57 - 03:43
3. Astro Zombies 03:43 - 05:54
4. Nike A Go Go 05:54 - 08:32
5. All Hell Breaks Loose 08:32 - 10:12

  • if you want "devils whorehouse" which is missing from the above you need to check out a bootleg album called "Ghouls Nights Out". Side B is a practice demo recorded in 'The PIt', the A side starts with the version of Astro Zombies which is here, complete with the false start and ends with I turned into a Martian, a different version from what is on here, sounds much faster than any previous studio recording.

  • @bobbyjayfatlad Actually Side A contains the Pit Sessions and not the other way round. The version of I Turned Into A Martian you're talking about was recorded at Master Sound Productions and was later released on the 3rd disc of the Misfits Box Set.

  • omg if you want the audio for this then fuckin RIP it

jesus christ man what is the deal with ppl and their sound cards in the fuckin yr 2010????????????????????????????????

  • @brix42 Calm down. Some guys actually want to listen to this in decent quality.

  • @Honkofthewall I bet you I could rip this right off your video and make it sound even cooler or better quality. It's not even about the quality. I'm talking about all these ppl on your comments that want the mp3 from you when all they have to do is rip this their own self.

    I'm sure you mean well.

  • @brix42 I believe you can do that as well, but it's not that easy for everyone so writing me a PM to get the original MP3 is the easier option.

  • My favorite album!! Got it in on record, and I got Doyle to sign it for me! :D

  • @8Bwv I wish I could thumbs up you more, I agree 110%. His voice is fucking orgasmic in these recordings, he hits all the notes so perfectly and his voice cuts the air so well. It's as though when he yells his "WOAAAAH" every punk in the 70's and 80's screams it with him.

  • Man this stuff used to be so hard to find...now it's just a couple of keystrokes.

  • This is the album that got me into the misfits.that was about 15 years ago.

  • you mind sending me a download link for this in a pm?

    i'd truly appreciate it

  • I ♥ this version; is very nostalgic;

  • i saw the misfits in 96 at Memory Lane in Baltimore... wasn't w/Danzig, of course... but the crowd sang EVERY WORD and Jerry and Doyle both received everyone who wanted autographs and pictures.... and the beer was cheep... fuckin awesome night

  • 1980-81 these sessions were recorded

  • execelentes verciones!!!!!!!!! thanx por compartirlas!!!!!! misfits es lo mas man!!!!!!!!!

  • oh man this is very nice; i like this song; is old and very nice.

  • @shootbinary Actually, the reason I like the earlier versions of the Walk Among Us tracks, especially the original Plan 9 recordings, are because I prefer the slower tempo. The official release is much faster, kind of a drag, to me.

  • One of the reasons why some people term these sessions "better" is due to the rawness, use of ambient noise, feedback etc. that were just too different for their time. Note that I'm not using the word "better" because everyone's taste, even those who like the Misfits, is again DIFFERENT. Some people like the live stuff and this has more of a live feel, a little more speed which some people like, and other differences...to each their own.

Let's just all be glad these tracks have been uncovered.
