Seth Shostack and every SETI member believes that ET's are "out there"

So does Shermer.

So, they believe this ZERO evidence whatsoever.

Does this belief mean that they have the mental disorder that you refer to as "crazy"?

Obviously, i meant to write that they believe that ET is out there with ZERO evidence to support that belief.

You say ZERO evidence based beliefs are a symptom of "crazy"

So, do you have the courage to back up your posting here and just come out and call them "crazy" or will you backtrack?

(i suspect you are scooting back in your cushy internet chair right now, lol)

Not at all. Given our knowledge of biology, physics, chemistry, and just plain old mathematical probability we can clearly demonstrate the possibility of life existing elsewhere in the universe.
These people are not crazy, they have plenty of evidence, they just aren't likely to find any proof.

No, actually they don't believe that aliens are out there. They believe they MIGHT be and search for empirical evidence for their existence. Searching for evidence for something isn't the same as believing in god or astrology on faith and asserting they exist without proof.

Your last statement is in error. If people accept the possibility of extra-terrestrial life, that doesn't mean that they're basing their "belief" on " ZERO evidence whatsoever."

The statistical probability of life existing only on one planet in a Universe so teeming with planets, planetoids, moons, etc. is pretty low (according to many). You have to be careful when making such statements as yours that you don't construct a perfect argument that bears to resemblance to the real argument.

you didn't "get" his view b/c he didn't give it. He gave an evolutionary explanation as to why common folk can miss/disbelieve in anthropogenic climate change.

I didnt really get his views on global warming around 7:30. Is he trying to say its real or its fake? I really hope he wasnt saying its fake because I really like what Ive seen of this guy so far.

Yeah There really isn't debate going on in the science community about whether or not global warming/climate change is occurring, but rather what the cause is, or which is moreso a cause, human activity, earth cycles, other factors, etc.

True. It's called schizophrenia.
