In an interview, Madeline Kahn has said that she did not like the song and felt like an idiot, because the text was so silly. But she also said that it was one of the highlights of the evening.

I wish I could a clip of Kahn singing "The Moment Is Passed" on Carson. It's a hilarious operatic tune, and she sang it brilliantly. I've never forgotten the performance. Anyone else remember it?
