The idea of bringing haptic back is a great one. this way is a bit to macroscaled but good to understand he idea. I know that you need certain steps but dont you have any concept to make a linear system out of it instead of a pixel like coil array? How about ER_Fluids or so?

It's a very interesting design overall but highly impractical for normal use, i can see the inductive charging being use but thats not what he is showing off. I love the idea for the tangible widgets but like utgfilms says below "you can have virtual ones". However it is a very good idea, it just needs a more useful application.

@utgfilms Haptic feedback and, therefore, an eyes-free interaction (no need to look at the control when operating it).
