F-15 Eagle collides with A-4 Skyhawk during Israeli training exercise on May 1, 1983. Amazingly, the pilot Zivi Nadavi was able to salvage his aircraft and land safely, if a bit uncomfortably fast.

  • that was freaking amazing,

i think something was carrying it,

    like an angle....cause god rules

  • I prefer the Occam's Razor explanation of lifting-body effect, good airplane, and damn good pilot!

  • an airplain engenier sat that if the engine is powerful enought you can fly a cube..hehe...awesome pilot i must say...and a awesome airplain...but what we see in the vid at 2:41 is computeranimated...

  • Agreed on the CGI at 2.41, there was no video of the real incident, so a reenactment was filmed.

  • This is bullshit, of course the F-15 rely heavily on a lifting body, its high-altitude performance rely completely on it. As does the F22's. Aerodynamically impossible, for a glider perhaps with a very high aspect ratio. For a low aspect ratio supersonic fighter with a lifting body design, not really impossible. Difficult to land but not impossible, as was proven.

  • Incredible! Yep, definitevely the wide body helped to create lift on the right side.

And I don't know why they show footage of an F-100.

  • @demonofragriz You do realise that there are fuel tanks in the other wing and in various other places? And the airfield was only 10 miles away, he could have practically gotten there without engines...

  • @EinhanderSn0m4n Are you just trying to show that you can speak english like a gentleman, or is it some other motive i haven't figured yet? It's not to offend you, not at all, it's just half of the guys here won't uderstand a damn thing you are saying, that is, if you keep writing that way, with latin terms like "ad hominem" and stuff like that. Just keep it simple.

  • That was frickn wild. Seems the USA builds its fighters like it does its cars, parts may fall off but they keep on going :p reminds me of the p47's that were so shot up they had pistons hanging out of the motor's yet would still make it back to base. same with F4u's. i remember reading about one ww2 piolet that got hit hard by flak in a f4u and it had blown a piston out of the motor and he said after seeing the damage that after it hapend he did not even know the motor was hit lol.

  • cool

  • thats bcoz none can do that, except f15

  • Both engines were still good and all the back tail were still good. But still, wow, just wow.

  • this is amazing!

I've never seen a plane do that!
