  • I"ve just had a breakthrough episode when I was just on lithium so I immediately started the quetiapine and in big jumps up. Side effects are terrible but I haven't got any worse since when I first noticed symptoms. This is so far the most mild episode I have had since I gained insight and found out I had bipolar 1 and I hope it stays that way.

  • never take prozac...prozac turned me into a full blown bipolar...I honestly wish the makers of prozac could be sued...now i have to take 4 medicines to compisate...suicide is better than prozac and ive earned the right to say this

  • I'm on 600mg of quetiapine and am doing better than I have in years. upping the quetiapine only a little has little effect you reaaly need to make big jumps with it like 100 to 200 mgs at a time. as far as the anxiety i find valium 5-15 mgs helpful , but only take it when i need it.

  • I experienced very bad anxiety on fluoxetine (Prozac) so it could be that. I'm (still) confused as to why they're giving you quetiapine which is supposed to be for psychosis although I was given it for anxiety (a very small dose). Hope you feel better soon anyway.

  • Try to remember that the condition tries to fool you. The anxiety tries to give you false alarms. They aren't real or they are distortions of smaller issues. Please see my Bedside Bipolar video. When anxiety hits, stop and slow down, take slow even breaths, and just take a break if have to. Have something else to focus on so you can re-anchor yourself. I love what you two are doing. Keep it up and stay strong.
