  • Ti-34 is a calculator for middle school (mostly 7th grade). It was very beneficial in the 7th grade but a graphing calculator is more helpful and accurate. Instead of breaking down the equations in the Ti-34, updated graphing calculators are better.

  • @KrystalKobra257 I agree that the TI-83/84 family of calculators are far more powerful than the TI-34. There are some big advantages to the TI-34 though; it handles mixed numbers much better than the TI-83/84, it is far easier to learn to use, and most importantly it's far cheaper at about $20.00. I wouldn't say the TI-34 is for middle school, it's basically an all around work horse of a calculator when you do not need the graphing or statistical features of the TI-83/84.

  • As far as I am aware, the TI-34 does not allow you to type in an equals sign. You can get around this if you're trying to check answers to algebra equations by simply typing in the left and right sides of the equation separately. For example, if I wanted to confirm that x = 2 is the solution to 4x+3 = 5x + 1 then I would type in 4(2)+3 and press enter then I would type in 5(2)+1 and make sure both expressis simplify to the same number.

  • what is the difference between this and the ti 30 xs multiview

  • @master00ofdsiware I'm not too familiar with the ti 30 xs multiview but it looks like it has much of the functionality of the ti-34. You'd have to go the the Texas Instruments website and take a look at the specs to see what the specific differences are.

  • How do we max the x factor such as 2x3 power on the calculator?

  • @scooch56 Not sure what you are referring to when you say "max the x factor" but if by this you mean how would you calculate 2 to the power of 3 on the calculator then that would be done using the ^ button. The command would look like this 2^3 then press the enter button.

  • @BeerBeauty1 I suggest get a graphing calculator. They're expensive but worth it.

  • @master00ofdsiware The ti-30 xs multiview is very similar to the ti-34 but the ti-30 is a bit more advanced with a few more options here and there.

  • Do you know how to type an equals sign in this calculator for an equation? I cannot figure it out. All help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
