Why Atheism?

Well that's your problem. Psychology isn't science. It's like calling astrology science.

Yes there is behavioral science, you can study the behavior of groups and learn things about them, but when you try to ascribe reason to an individual's actions based on magic mind readings, aka therapy, that's where science is thrown out the window.

psychology is the study of the mind. study, observation of systems is science. there are many things you can give thanks to , thanks to psychology. are you serious? psychology and neurology work together, psychology is an unbelievable contributor the understanding of people, it helps in advertising and it also goes hand in hand with sociology. hello!

your right about astrology and magic. but i am speaking about science. sociology is psychology of groups.  the study of people is huge in understanding history and future history decisions. its very valuable. how can any humanity ignore the patterns of the people?

I said the study of behavior in groups is science while therapy is not science.

Tell me what unit of measurement is used in therapy? If you can't measure it and have someone else repeat the measurement it isn't science.

I'm not even saying therapy can't help some people but just call it what it is, philosophy. Sometimes just talking about your problems is helpful but when they start shocking people and cutting chunks of their brains out without any real scientific reasoning THAT is insane.

i was talking about psychology, or study of mental processes. im not talking therapy. i agree, i dont think therapy works either, although some good ones will suggest techniques that really work and are also advised by health officials. they are retested and have trackable and general predictable patterns.

i just wish we could all abandon our groups and just find interest in becoming healthy minded people that can work together as one big group

like you said, there is no way to prove the exceptions. and though a huge amount of them are explainable (some still think the reflection of a camera flash is phenomena) , there are other very complex experiences that are so far off of rationality that those who learn to interact with the phenomena and more spend the rest of their lives advancing in that world, even if it means abandoning rationality & logic. these two worlds can only meet with peace, and that seems pretty logical.

i can totally understand not believing if there is no reason to that you can see. even though that has been the message all along, you forget about it with the majority of the aggressive ones in the public eye. but then again, loud noises always attract atttention

i wish more atheists were like you. you set a good example displaying smarts and respect. (unless this is just your professional side: to every profession,an unprofessional side). they are much more understandable and much more respectful and it makes me want to love you (but not force stuff on you).

the born thing.... i sure wish they could do tests on babies, but who knows, probably inhumane, as in, what would kids do growing up with no media or parental influence but basic necessity taken care of. or maybe a mute mother as a love source (i hear babies cant live without it) would they bother to look past the clouds?
