What stuff do you use to make your sound?

This is a superb recreation of the distinctive class 66 sounds, the ying yinging is captured perfectly.

Sound is great Biff. The compressor speed up is a great feature and very redolent of Sheds sitting looped etc
-
how would i go about getting this exact sound chip as it sounds awsome.

That sounds excellent. Wow what a long start up. Horns are excellent, really sharp! I have 4 Dapol 66's that have being waiting for this. Looking forward to hearing the cooler group fans. Certainly knocks the other manufacturers for 6. Well done.

That's very kind of you to say. Those engine sounds came form a good friend of mine who also recorded the cooler group fans which feature on the chip at higher speeds. The various ancilliary sounds (horns, doors etc) came from recordings of my own.

Thanks. When I created the project I wasn't sure if I'd set it to occur too frequently but after listening to one idling for ages at Grantham I think I got it about right.

The start up is longer than most sound chips but probably only half the length of the real thing. I chose a compromise between the two. The cooler group simulation is good. As the power goes on the louvres open and shortly after that the fans start. At higher speeds the fans go faster. The sequence reverses when power is backed off.
