SOLLOCKS! ...Code for: STOP FIGHTING NOW! Divorced five years, snooty British socialites Amanda & Eliot run into each other on their honeymoons with 2 new spouses, who, of course, they ditch. Hiding out in Amanda's Paris flat, they have been alternately at each other's throat or making whoopee. Here, they "make up". Watch the lead up to these "tender moments" in Private Lives Part I.
Footage from Gala Event - not shot in play's entirety.
Dear ellakanahmen,Noel and Gertie---Not sure whether they are better than those 2,However I do agree most wholeheartedly with you that they are better than Alan Rickman and Lindsay Duncan! These 2 performers SPARKLE and bounce off each other spectacularly. IF I was to nitpick -Yes, just occasionally the accents come through, but what the heck-I'd sooner put up with that than have to sit through Alan R/Lindsay D's laboured and staid approach!!!!

O Yeah, seezal, I just found it! I'm loving it -- I'm just at the part where Eliot and Amanda go off to Paris together. This is wonderful. I especially love Alec McCowen -- he makes a few facial expressions almost toward the beginning where you know he's delighted, abashed, and horrified, all at once,, to see her again.
Thank you seezal.

Try the film version with Alec McCowen & Penelope Keith - the whole film is on here in sections... Hilarious! Penelope is especially funny, and charming - fantastic performance.

Me neither -- that's too bad, because I think these actors are better performers than Alan Rickman/Lindsay Duncan (Oh! heresy, I know) or Noel Coward/Gertie Lawrence (whoa, even bigger heresy!) Who are they? They're terrific--mad props to both.

The fight scene at the end had me in stitches. I loved the "leg bite"!
