The boss and me out for a play. The GT3 doesn't really open it up on the straights, but through the tighter sections the R26.R is definitely faster and easier....

There's no way the R26.R would keep up with a GT3RS around the twisties or higher speed bends.

Either the GT3 driver is useless, he's holding back big time, or the GT3 needs a geo check done.

Over the camber changes and through the slow/medium speed corners the R26.R is all over the GT3RS. It's only a front-wheel-drive shopping trolley, but it's got the grip and it's never out of shape over the crappier surfaces and angles.

Geo at the time was different to how we have it now, but it was still ballpark excellent.

You make it sound like the only way a GT3RS could be slower than an R26.R at any point is if it's broken!

Over a lap the R26.R is going to lose 50 seconds here, no doubt. But it's not wise to dismiss the possibility that the little Renault is slower on every part of the 21km course. Not unless you've datalogged everything with the same driver and same conditions...

Hi everyone- I have owned 996 GT3 as well as Megane R26- I currently own 997GT3 RS and an R26R- my main domain is the Nordschleife with many 100's of fast laps there- let me tell you that the R26R is a phenomal car, but it does not get close to the GT3 at any point, if driven by the same driver under the same conditions, same tires. The Megane is a much easier driving car though because more stable.

The official laptimes are: 7m42Sec for the 997 compared to 8m17Sec for the R26R...any questions?

@scoot24925 can be. I saw the film with megane made by Dijon racin so I thougt, that is one of them. But even when its not I steel know But there that no megane could keep up with any gt3. He could have even seen the back of gt3. This is not this class.

This is not normal r26r but r26r tuned by Dijon Auto Racing, so it has over 400 HP. The normal r26r with 230 HP would have no chance wiht gt3 rsr. But it's very interesting film and I also love this Renault.

@dario555666 u fucking dumb, "awd" doesnt make your car faster in straight and corner, its just for acceleration when u exit a corner, u asshole. gt3 driver old in straight it say from the description but not in corner, so yes the megane is fucking fast at corner like the gt3 but not in strai.

Of course you could explain the phenomenon by looking at the value of each car.....which one are you most likely to want to drive on the edge? A £20k Renault or a £60k Porsche.

Why is everyone whining, are you really so dumb or just pretending to be? Of course the GT3RS is faster, its got an engine twice the size of the one in megane, twice as much hp, its RWD, about the same weight, more aerodynamic, and costs 10 times more. But you cant argue that Megane R26 is a masterpiece of a car. ~8:15 lap time with a FWD car thats got a bit more than 220hp is highly impressive..its faster around nurburgring that some proper sports cars like M3 (e46), Aston V8 vantage, etc..
