It's funny when I watch this video and I read the comments, it really gives Christians a bad name when you have one who says follow the Bible, and the comments reflect Biblical usage. When will some realize that they are bending on their own interpretation? I mean both sides of the argument seem valid, but that is only because it's your own interpretation. I wonder what first, second, third, fourth century Christians interpreted it as...

Mayombe2001, I would warn you that "Lord Jesus Christ Son of God Have mercy on me a sinner" is NEVER redundant, for a born again believer or anyone else. Have you read the parable of the Tax Collecter and the Pharisee? Who went away justified that day? We remain the tax collector so long as we commit sin. Do we? "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us."(1 John 1:8, see following verse too!) Otherwise I agree with you! God bless you.

How in Gods name do such unknowledgeable gentlemen continue to practice their profession over the air. Can folks not see and hear this?

A Christian can say the Jesus Prayer but in a modified way. To say the entire prayer of "Lord Jesus Christ Son of God Have mercy on me a sinner" is somewhat redundant for a born again since one is already saved. SO to repeat this prayer in the mentioned fashion is a vain repitition almost. There is a more ancient form of Jesus prayer that consists simply of repeating Jesus' Name...the name whereby we are saved. To repeat Jesus's Name is always a good practice of remembrance plus Bible reading.

So one-sided and anachronistic. Let's just tear things down. It's so much easier........

God's command(!)is not optional--"Be still and know that I am God." So, it is puzzling that you seem unwilling to "Do whatever He tells you." You argue that God never said to be still, get empty and open yourself to evil. Maybe you do that when you are still; if so, you need to repent of it. Christian pray-ers must deny themselves "to FOLLOW GOD into His" stillness. "This is my Divine Son, listen to Him!" works for me. HE is with us "all days." Peace
Are really all these practices condemned in the Bible? Do you suggest that the Jesus Prayer is condemned in the Bible? Please read "the way of a pilgrim" and "the pilgrim continues his way" and you will understand how that prayer is an ancient tradition, demanded of us in the Gospel. That is what my study of the Word says. Our connection with God is direct and two-way. Prayer is the Love for God and the fellow man. Reading the Word is not sufficient, I interpret. And if one's illiterate? Prayer.

Who decided to call it "Mysticism"? Only the critics I suppose. We're back to the old ways. Point the finger and scream "Satan" if you dont agree with what another Christian is doing...This prayer is about connecting with God. So many people dont know how to pray. We need experts to point us in the right direction.
