http://bit.ly/dejiBP6X Motorola's Milestone XT720 Android smartphone, like other high-end smartphones, burns power quickly, limiting talk and run time. Power management is a major hurdle for these ambitious, early generation smartphones and is the topic of several other danimations digital media tips. In this episode, danimations seeks out a high capacity replacement battery from Deji to alleviate the problem, swapping it with the stock Motorola BP6X battery. After testing for two weeks on a device running Android Froyo 2.2, Dan Monceaux shares his results in this video.

  • I reflashed my Samsung Galaxy S with "Darkys Mod"... which one of it's features.. it disables the low battery application blocker :)

  • @seanslater Interesting... I wonder how it does that? Hence you're idea about an app to do the same... that would be handy for the Deji battery and Moto XT720 combo!

  • You make a good point regarding the 'low battery' warning stopping from opening the camera and other applications - that is as you said, very frustrating. I wonder if there is an app to change that behaviour.

  • @seanslater Yeah, I thought it might be a battery 'memory' issue... there's a batterystats.bin file mentioned in several battery conditioning tutorials which can be safely deleted to wipe the device's stored history of charge/capacity etc. I tried this (twice) but with no change to the rapid charge fall-off (in metering) problem.

  • Hey, let us know what model battery this is so we can look for it online.

  • @Henzod Hey mate, as requested, I've added the purchase link to the video description. I hope the battery works out for you!
