I was in the OU band and in the stands at the Ice Bowl 1985. The final score was 13-0. And it was COLD.....but memorable. Valves on my instrument froze just before halftime....unfroze just in time to start the halftime show....it was a constant freezing rain in our faces when we were in the endzone stands. We didn't sit....stood and huddle together and continued to blow warm air thru our instruments.
I was in the OSU band. They told us to leave after the half time show, but some of us stayed. Brutal. They closed I-35 that night, I have'nt heard of that happening since. There had to be less than 500 people in the stands at the end of regulation.OU won by 3 or 7 I think. The Big 8 banners on top of the press box were frozen stiff, sticking straight out sideways. they were at least 12 to 16 feet long. Surreal.
Reminds you of the Dolphins vs. Cowboys Thanksgiving game from '93.

I never knew about this game, you would think considering the snow factor/the ice/ it would be more well known. Thanks for putting this up.
Was this game from 1986?
